Church of Our Saviour was founded in 1867, two years after the Civil War. Services began in a refurbished barn donated by one of the founders. The first service in the current building was held on Easter Sunday in 1889. The parish's tradition of responding to the needs of the community in the name of Christ spans its history, from housing people made homeless by the Chicago Fire of 1871 to our 25 years of serving hot meals twice a week to the hungry and homeless since the mid 1970s. Church of our Saviour is open to all people seeking to join in worship and community.
