Episcopal Day: Six
Flags Tuesday, August
10th Join Episcopalians from around the
Diocese of Chicago and other neighboring dioceses for a day of fun at
Six Flags Great America, including a Eucharist at 5 p.m. in the
Wilderness Theater. If you're just making the decision today (tomorrow
or Tuesday) come on up-there will be someone from the Diocese outside
the park at the ticket booth area with information about discount
prices, etc. Song Fest
Saturday, August 21st @ 3:00 pm Love to sing hymns, both old
and new? Here's your chance! Plan to join us on Saturday, August 21st
at 3:00 for a 'Congregational Songfest' with Dent Davison, Missioner for
Liturgy & the Arts in the Diocese. We'll follow this with a summer
cook-out. Please RSVP to ingridbcos@gmail.com by August 15th, sending
along your 2 favorite hymns for us to include in our "Sing Along with
Dent" booklet and you'll be entered in the day's door prize. Don't miss
out on this fun summer-time event!

Gratitude and Reminders New
Logo for the Church
The new letterhead logo for Church of Our
Saviour will feature several of the kneelers needle pointed over the
past few years. We will be choosing four, representing "Scripture,"
"Tradition," "Reason" and "The Light of God." Please bring to the front
of the church any kneeler you'd like to nominate at any church service
today. They will be photographed and put into one of these four
categories before next week, when we'll have a final vote. Office Staff Changes - As we said last week, we
are happy to welcome Susan Garza as our new Office and Building
Manager. Susan's official start date was August 1st, her office hours
will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Susan brings a curious and
loving nature, she looks forward to meeting all of you. Food for Friends Volunteers Needed - A Clothing
Rack Coordinator who would be responsible for organizing the clothing we
already have, identifying areas of need (in terms of sizes and types of
clothes), and soliciting contributions to the rack when necessary. If
you are interested in helping please contact either Josh or Amanda
Wagner. agleasonwagner@hotmail.com and jtwagner2@yahoo.com.

Beyond Our Walls
Anglicans on YouTube - With the question over Anglican
identity now generating intense debate
in the wake of the announcements from the Anglican Communion Office, the
communication office of the Diocese of Chicago offers this bit of
insight from the Anglican Church of Canada on our witness as Anglicans
and the power of the message of Christ. It is worth
4 min. to the watch.
